Allie Nugent is a painter and sociologist from Denver, Colorado currently based in San Francisco. Since she was young, creating art has been a deeply personal, almost instinctual, endeavor. Originally interested in depictions of ships that inspired her, painting taught her to have a deep reverence for the objects around her and their power as symbols. Allie’s art grew to be visual representations of her memories, exploring a new relationship with her emotions. Her creative process is primarily a way to understand her life and thinking with her hands to capture a feeling. Allie has a unique talent for creatively addressing shapes and colors to translate her emotions to her audience.
“The things that I see are so beautiful that I want to show them to other people… art is just what I do.” - Allie Nugent
